A Mid-winter Yarn Bombing

 

 

Today was a nice warm day. Nice enough to go out to the park in just a sweater! So I thought I would take a little tree sweater out and warm up a little tree for the rest of the winter!

Nope!!

All the trees at the park were huge! So, here is is, on the playground railing!

The kids will enjoy it, and who knows? Perhaps a curious parent or two will be lured up onto the play-set by their child’s proclamation that there is a sweater there!? Yep.. Yarnbombers.. keeping people active all over the world!

Special Delivery!

In this little town we have the BEST post office of any anywhere! It’s a little dingy outside so I thought I would brighten it up a teensy bit with a little flower!

 

Hopefully it will bring a smile to the faces of one or two people who pass it by!

 

Yarnbombing Rhinebeck!!

Whatever is a yarn bomber to do when she finds herself at the New York Sheep and Wool Festival? Well a little yarn bombing of course! I didn’t see any yarn bombing.. so I went for it. Pretending to examine some beautiful fall foliage on a tree I slipped a simple slip knot onto the branch and voila.. there was an apple suddenly hanging there!

 

Unfortunately, I did not have my camera on me. So I went back and grabbed my daughter’s camera and swung back around to take a shot or two.

There were a  couple of families hanging out under the tree with their little children kicking up and playing with the leaves. One of the moms bumped into the apple and upon examining it declared it ‘cool’

Finally, when they had wandered off, I was able to catch some pics!

That’s them strolling off in the distance. So fun to be able to see people enjoying your work!!

Mushrooms at Midnight

Ok.. it wasn’t quite midnight and it was only one mushroom.

 

 

Planted under a tree near a local grocery store.. right near the little table where their staff sit outside to take their breaks! It’s a little thank you to the nice folks there that always take good care of me when I shop there!!

The fun thing was when I went to plant this little mushroom, there right in the spot where I planned to put it was a toad!!

Rain Delay!

I got my little apple hung up today. I took advantage of the people leaving the park because of an impending storm. Unfortunately it started raining as soon as I had gotten the little apple hung up in the tree. So no pic of it in place!

                                                 

Here it is pre-drop! I hope I will get back out to the park to check on it and take a pic!

Yarnbombing, the book..

The new book Yarnbombing is out.. well sort of. They had a limited amount of copies to sell from the publisher’s website, and were offering them with a free yarnbombing pin! So I snapped one up! Don’t know if they are still offering the pins but hey we’ll see!

Hoping it arrives before my trip this weekend. I have a little yarnbombing ready to go along with me to the city!

Planting a Little Yarny Sunshine!

I was at a local college campus this weekend and so I did a little yarn bombing..

This planter box area just needed something.. So I planted a yarn flower!

Hopefully it will brighten someone’s day!

I also hit a bike stand with another little flower.. didn’t get a pic of it.. had to run!
